Cut a 20 inch long piece of 16 gauge wire. Bend the wire at the center as shown in the photo. Cross the wire ends at about 4.5 inches from the bend. Starting where the wire ends cross at 4.5 inches from the bend, twist the two pieces of wire together for about .75 inches. This twist forms the body. To make the wings on each side, bend the wire as shown in the above photo and all of the following photos...
To finish each wing; wind the end of the wire around the butterfly body twice and then trim off any excess wire.
Lastly, bring both sides of the wire stick together.

Cut two pieces of 28 gauge wire that measure 2.5 inches long. Fold each of them in half leaving a tiny loop at the fold. Thread the pear shaped bead through both ends of one of the folded wire pieces with the narrow end touching the tiny loop.
Send one side of the other folded piece of wire through the tiny loop at the narrow end of the pear shaped bead so that both tiny loops are hooked together. Thread the round bead through both ends of the second piece of wire until it touches the other tiny loop. See photo.
To attach the beads to the butterfly, first spread the two ends of the wire at the wide end of the pear shaped bead and touch the bead against the base of the loop on the butterfly's top wing. Wind one of the wire ends around a few times and trim off any extra. Next, spread the two ends of the wire coming out of the round bead and put one end on each side of the butterfly bottom wing edge. Wrap each end of the wire around the bottom of the wing a few times and trim the ends. Thread another round bead onto the other piece of wire coming from the pear shaped bead. Wind the end of the wire on the other side of the loop in the butterfly's top wing so that the round bead is suspended inside the loop. Trim any excess wire ends.
