Materials Needed:
  • 16 Gauge Copper Wire (or...16 gauge wire in another color may also be used.)
  • 28 Gauge Copper Wire (or...28 gauge wire in another color to match your 16 gauge wire)
  • Needle Nose Pliers w/Wire Cutters
  • Faceted Glass Beads
    • Pear Shaped approx. 7mm x 5mm
    • Bicone or Round Shaped approx. 4mm
  • Ruler or Tape Measure

You can chose any color of wire or beads to make your hair sticks match whatever you are wearing for a unique and customized butterfly hair accessory.

Note: Unlike traditional wood hair sticks, because the wire is flexible, these sticks work best as a decorative accessory rather than an item to hold hair in place.

Make the Hair Sticks:

  • The directions for making the butterfly hair sticks are mostly visual so they have been put together on a different page. Please Click Here to view that instruction page.
  • Finished Size approx. 6 inches long from top of butterfly wings to end of stick.

Done!
For a different look, try some black wire with red glass beads or silver wire with multicolor beads.
