Positioning:
First; complete a regular knit stitch but DO NOT slide the stitch off of the left hand needle. (Basically, you are going to knit another stitch but into the back instead of the front.)
Step 1.
Bring the right hand needle under and behind the left hand needle.
Step 2.
Send the right hand needle into the back of the stitch that you kept on the left hand needle.
Step 3.
Bring the yarn around the right hand needle just like you do when you knit.
Step 4.
Bring the yarn that you just wrapped around the right hand needle through the stitch, just under the left hand needle.
Step 5:
Finally, slide the stitch off of the left hand needle. You just turned one stitch into two.
