Paint Colors Needed:
  • Shamrock / Leaf Green
  • Forest Green
  • Canary Yellow
  • Regular Pink
  • Bright Magenta
  • White
Use Acrylic Craft Paint in these colors to mix up shades used in the painting of these flowers as instructed below.

(*Note: Depending on the brand of paint you buy, the name may vary, look for a color that fits the description in the name.)

Paint By Letter Guide & Paint Mixing Instructions:
For each "part" use an equal measure such as one drop from the bottle equaling "1 part" and 4 drops equaling "4 parts" etc...



P - Leaves
3 parts leaf green
2 parts forest green

Q - Stems & Bud
3 parts leaf green
1 part yellow

X - Dark Petals
4 parts pink
2 parts magenta

M - Med. Petals
regular pink only

O - Light Petals
4 parts pink
2 parts white

Shaded Areas on Petals
4 parts pink
3 parts white
1 part yellow

Leaf Vein Lines
Same as color for Q

Flower Painting Instructions:
Paint parts in the order given here for best results and use the color chart above to mix the colors correctly for each part.

  1. Paint the leaves. (marked P)
  2. Paint the stems, but not the bud. (marked Q)
  3. Paint the dark petal parts. (marked X)
  4. Paint the medium petal parts. (marked M)
  5. Paint the light petal parts. (marked O)
  6. Paint the shaded areas on the petals with the "shaded area" color.
  7. Paint the bud. (marked Q)
  8. Lastly, draw the leaf vein lines with color Q. Use a toothpick or tiny brush.
